FIXED BRIDGES
Fixed bridgework is a series of crowns that are fabricated in one piece for the purpose of replacing missing teeth. One or more teeth may be replaced. Generally this requires at least two anchor teeth - one on each side of the space/missing tooth. The bridge is cemented into place and is not removed. This is in contrast to a removable partial denture. In most cases the fixed bridgework is more natural and comfortable. Implants can often replace missing teeth which avoids the need to involve other teeth with crowns.
