Dr. Barry Willis graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1977. From there he joined the United States Navy for 2 1/2 years where he was based at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Tapei, Taiwan. He had the opportunity to continue his education under the mentorship of numerous specialists. Upon returning to the states he spent his remaining time at the dental clinic at Alameda Naval Air Station in California
In 1980 he moved to Phoenix with his family and took a position with the Maricopa County Health Department where he managed one of the pedodontic (children) dental clinics. In 1981 he moved to Prescott and opened his dental practice in Chino Valley.
Dental techniques, dental products and dental equipment are all changing rapidly. It is an exciting time to practice dentistry. Continuing education is ongoing. Journals, independent newsletter reviews, additional continuing education courses, etc. contribute in keeping Dr. Willis current regarding these changes and improvements. Recent courses have included porcelain veneers for enhanced cosmetics; certification in the use of lasers in dentistry; mini-implant placement for stabilization of removable appliances and fiber optic light technology for earlier cavity detection that allows us to preserve more tooth structure.
